Thought for the Day

Teachers and parents, we have put together this new resource for your pupils and children. Here you will find a series of 15-20 minute video workshop sessions that provide a space for reflection and stillness amongst this busy and different time.

The series is based on the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Each video will include relaxation exercises, a thought for the day, a mixture of activities and some breathing exercises.

These ‘Thought for the Day’ sessions will be released at 7am on our YouTube channel every Tuesday and Thursday, starting on 19th January. Each video also has an optional worksheet that children can use to follow along.

FAQs

What are the videos about?

This video series is based on the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

What can I expect to happen in the videos?

Each video will start with some stretches to help your pupils to relax their bodies and settle ready for some reflection. Following this there will be a thought for the day based on one of the topics above. Then, there will be some quiet music whilst activities come up on the screen. The activities will range from simple crafts to thinking about an answer to a question on the screen. The videos will finish with some simple breathing exercises.

What resources do my pupils need?

If pupils have access to a printer, they can print the worksheet to fill in whilst watching the video. If they do not have access to printing facilities, they can still join in with a piece of paper and a pen (the worksheets are a great addition to each session but they are not required).

Is this resource available offline?

For pupils without internet access, the worksheets are a standalone resource. Whilst the video provides a more interactive session, the worksheet can be used without it. If you would like a copy of our videos, i.e. if you cannot access YouTube, please let us know so we can arrange a way to share a copy of the videos with you.
