Hope and Help
This month we are launching our Hope and Help fundraising campaign. Money raised will be used to support new ways of us working in schools following the Coronavirus pandemic and allow us to increase our most vital activities bringing hope to those who need it most.
It will help buy the equipment required to produce high quality, digital materials for use in classrooms where restrictions on school visitors are still in place; and it will enable us to recruit and train more volunteers to support the delivery of our core activities including our Kingsquad Clubs and Prayer and Reflection Spaces. We are lucky to already have over 200 volunteers as part of our team but with continuing restrictions on group sizes and an anticipated increase in referrals to projects like our 1-2-1 Mentoring service, we will need more trained individuals to help our team continue to reach all the children in our network.
Not all young people have a trusted support system at home that they can seek reassurance and encouragement from. For some of the most vulnerable, 15 weeks of lockdown will have had a big impact on their mental wellbeing and those experiencing anxiety may well have found that the pandemic has worsened their conditions. As Christians, we have been able to seek comfort in God’s love for us and lean on him for strength and hope when we have faced the challenges of recent months. Many of the children we encounter have no experience of this and through our work in schools, our team are able to explore the Christian faith inspiring children to discover its relevance to their own lives.
We are a small charity entirely reliant on voluntary donations and we have seen an unprecedented drop in our funds in recent months. We recognise that for some people, this might not be the right time for you to give to our campaign, but for those who can, we hope you will consider contributing. Our varied programmes of support which nurture children’s wellbeing are needed now more than ever to ensure a bright future for this young generation. Your generosity will mean we can help children and young people get back on track and equip them with the tools they need to move forward and succeed in life.
Thank you for your prayers and continued support at this time.
