9/12 - Christmas
is coming!
Sorry to have not updated the news
section for quite a few months! We just wanted to send a quick update.. (With more to come in the next year!!) ..to say to
all our friends/associates/schools and Churches:
Happy Christmas and a good new year to you all!

18/3 - Praying with children.
During the last month we have witnessed quite a few events happening through the TV and other media
from around the world. This includes the earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan, the fighting in Lybia and Egypt and other
events happening around the world.
At the Family Trust training day
on Saturday we looked at three modules: behaviour managment, story telling and also praying with children. During the module
on praying with children, we looked at various ways in which we can engage children with God and encourage them to pray.
Faith mentioned the power that children can have when praying and how we shouldn't dismiss the prayers they present.
With this in mind I felt quite strongly that during the Kingsquad's this week I should give
prayer more then the 5 minutes we often tag onto the end of the session.
Taking
a small cardboard cross with us on Monday, at the start of Kingsquad we asked them to write prayers (on sticky notes) for
the countries mentioned above and stick them onto the cross. The result was amazing, with every child writing at least one
prayer and also seeing them getting exciting about saying their prayers out loud too! We look forward to continuing our new
found love of prayer and seeing what God has to say next.

10/3 - Busy as Bees - The last couple of weeks at the Maidstone FT office
have been busy but productive. We have come back from the recent half-term holiday to a new Easter assembly, a new and brilliant
set of Kingsquad teaching (Thanks to Medway!!) and have been busy sorting out Chequer Tree Camp forms - which have been coming
in thick and fast!
Last week we had the priviledge to host a pizza evening at the Maidstone
office with various childrens workers from around the town - a chance for us to socialise together, talk about recent activities
and look towards future joint events.
And finally this Saturday we have the next FT
training day coming up in Gillingham. We are really looking forward to seeing what God will be saying to each one of us!

11/2 - Michelle
(The Good Samaritan) Saves Man!!
...Well not quite literally but she did stop to make
sure the man in question was ok after falling off the bus. She even stayed with him until further help arrived. Good Work
Michelle!
In other Family Trust related news - The next CTC Core Team Meeting is tomorrow.
With lots planned to talk about and the agenda almost a page long, how will we cope - especially as there are NO doughnuts..
Don't tell Deano, as we may have another man who needs saving (..from doughnut related withdrawal symptoms!)

January 2011
21/1 - Steve Knowles was at All Saints Church Loose last night to participate
in the Licencing of their new vicar Steve Price by the Bishop of Dover Trevor Willmott. As an added bonus new Children’s
Families and Youth worker Guy and Carly Mansell were also welcomed on board. Guy & Carly were referred to as BOGOF
by the bishop, demonstrating the churches commitment to beating Tesco at its own game by engaging two workers by recruiting
a married couple with complementary skills! On behalf of The Family
Trust, Steve was given the opportunity to publicly welcome them both.
Steve says that, with the addition of Guy and Carly, there are growing numbers
of workers engaged in Schools work, both with children and young people in the Maidstone area. This focus on tomorrow’s
generation by the church is good news to The Family Trust and for our children and young people
who now have more opportunities to hear of God’s plan for their lives in these challenging times.
